Allan was born in Oregon and raised in Southern Oregon by his parents, Allan (Big Al) and Donna Carver. They worked hard and owned numerous businesses over their careers from restaurants to hot air ballooning. Allan learned the value of hard work and the importance of solving problems while watching his parents care for their community, staff members and family.
Allan is a graduate of College of the Siskiyous (COS) and had the pleasure of representing the Eagles on the football field. He took his football career and education to Missoula, MT where he was a scholarship athlete at the University of Montana and served as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard’s 163rd Armored Brigade.
Allan’s professional career began here in Siskiyou County when he returned to COS as an adjunct instructor and football coach for three years. He then served as a recreation program director at a private school outside of Redding, CA before moving abroad for five years. Living and working as an educator in Kuwait, Morocco and Guatemala gave Allan a multicultural and multilingual perspective in serving the educational needs of students.
Upon his return to the United States, Allan served at Scott Valley Unified as a teacher, principal and superintendent. He served as the principal of five different schools during his tenure including three elementary, one middle and one community day school along with spending four years as the district’s superintendent. During the past few years at the Siskiyou County Office of Education, Allan has had the pleasure of leading the Educational Services Department.
