Vision

The Siskiyou County Office of Education serves students through Early Head Start, State Preschool and Special Education as well as supporting many aspects of school district operations.  The Siskiyou COE provides services to the 25 districts and 2 charters in Siskiyou county related to school nursing, district financial support, special education, and professional learning for teachers, paraeducators and administrators.  Additionally, the Siskiyou COE supports the Siskiyou After School for Everyone (SAFE) which provides after school programs for 20 school sites and utilizes approximately $2.6 million in funding.  Foster youth and homeless students throughout Siskiyou county are directly supported by the Siskiyou COE in collaboration with schools.

Allan understands the significance and impact the programs and services that the Siskiyou COE has on our schools.  His leadership has resulted in doubling the contractual days with schools for providing science labs, field trips and outdoor education.  Currently, he is working with colleagues in developing the Office of School-Based Mental Health and Wellness which will serve schools and districts throughout the county with professional learning, a case manager for high needs students, and school counselors to serve students directly.  His office has secured numerous grants totaling approximately $1.1 million to support literacy including CALI Reads, Lead to Literacy and Getting Reading Right which collectively impact all grades and numerous school districts.

Allan's vision and leadership is focused on the approaches and programs listed below.  Collectively this work impacts all school districts and charter schools in Siskiyou County.
